This one-day
workshop will help crop insurance agents, agricultural lenders,
farmers/ranchers, and other financial consultants provide better risk management
information and advice to their clients or apply to their farm-ranch. |
Much of the program is
policy-oriented, beginning with the new Farm Bill passed in 2008 and changes
taking place in commodity and risk programs. Risks in the commodity markets due
to high and volatile grain prices will also be discussed, as will the direct and
indirect impact of high energy costs on the costs of production.
New crop insurance
programs, including new programs such as COMBO, BYE, CMIS and Data Mining are
presented, in addition to the new Farm Bill provisions for existing programs.
The Pasture Rangeland and Forage program is discussed as well as specific
updates for Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado. The new SURE (Disaster Aid) program
is evaluated, particularly with how this coverage relates to and affects
existing crop insurance programs. |
