Much of the program is policy-oriented, beginning discussion of the macroeconomy, the recession and recovery. Managing risk with the new farm income safety net in the 2008 farm bill includes discussion of the ACRE program and the standing disaster program, SURE. Risks in the commodity markets due to high and volatile grain and oilseed prices will also be discussed. Representatives from the USDA Risk Management agency will discuss actuarial and underwriting changes for the 2010 crop year and the program will close with a discussion dealing with agricultural contracting.
