These 2020 Kansas Cotton-RAM workshops focus on the best management production practices, local cotton & handling-logistics, and marketing choices that are needed for cotton to be a profitable crop enterprise in 2021.
The meeting will open with discussion of “Agronomic Factors” for Cotton Production by KSU Agronomist Lucas Haag.
Cotton Marketing Options, Field Staging & Logistics will be discussed by Northwest Cotton Growers Marketing Manager Megan Smedley,
2021 Cotton Crop Insurance Options in Kansas will be discussed by Akilah Johnson, Senior Risk Management Specialist for RMA-Topeka.
2020 Cotton Cost-Return estimates versus alternative crops will be discussed by KSU Agricultural Economist Daniel O’Brien.

Then Dr. Rex Friesen of the Southern Kansas Cotton Growers Cooperative will discuss “Local Management & Logistics” recommendations for Cotton Production.
Akilah Johnson, Senior Risk Management Specialist for RMA will discuss 2021 Cotton Crop Insurance Options in Kansas.
The meeting will conclude with a discussion of 2020 Cotton Cost-Return estimates led by KSU Agricultural Economist Daniel O’Brien.
