The land outlook will look at historical and current land value information and will use that information to look at price expectations in the land market. There will also be discussion of the farm income situation and outlook for Kansas.

2022 Kansas Land Values and Ownership Trends - Robin Reid - 12:00-12:45 pm
Agricultural land values in Kansas continue to trend upwards at a historically high rate. According to the National Ag Statistics Service, cropland values in Kansas saw a 24.5% increase across the state last year alone. Robin Reid will use actual sales data to study this trend within different regions of the state. She will also discuss who is purchasing agricultural land in Kansas and how the demographics of landowners are changing.
Foreign Land Ownership - Allen Featherstone and Robin Reid - 12:45-1:30 pm
This presentation will discuss how foreign ownership of U.S. food and agricultural assets is becoming a more important issue in policy debates. The foreign ownership of agricultural land and how that has changed from previous years. In addition, there will be an update on the ownership of food and agriculturally-related corporations that support U.S. agricultural production and how foreign control of key aspects of the U.S. food supply chain can have potential impacts on U.S. food security.
