The thing that has always set this conference apart in the past has been the tremendously knowledgeable and talented speakers.  These individuals truly are the most gifted human resource management experts the country has to offer.  They are experienced.  They are well-spoken.  And they know agriculture.  We are very excited to once again bring together the country's leading experts on this topic.  

Dr. Bernard Erven is professor emeritus of agricultural economics at Ohio State University, specializing in human resource management, farm management and business management.  He continues to teach courses at Ohio State in Agribusiness Management and Human Resource Management in Small Businesses.  His consulting work with small businesses through Erven HR Services LLC focuses on family business relations and human resource management.

For more than thirty years he has worked with topics such as hiring, training, motivation, compensation, and performance evaluation.  His work on these continuingly important topics has taken him throughout Ohio and to more than twenty-five other U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

John Behrends is a teacher, coach, referee, speaker and friend to thousands of people.  As a member of both the National and Minnesota Speakers Associations, John provides inspirational, hands-on education that creates positive results. Sarah Fogleman is an Agricultural Economist with K-State Research and Extension.  She holds a M.S. in Agricultural Resource and Managerial Economics from Cornell University, and her credits include groundbreaking research, national speaking opportunities and the privilege of coordinating the Employee Management for Production Agriculture Conference.

Jorge Estrada is president of Leadership Coaching International, Inc. and focuses his work on organizational development and leadership coaching. He received his Masters of Science in Ag Business Management from Kansas State University and his Masters in Leadership Coaching from the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, CA. He is a member of the International Coaching Federation and has over 16 years experience in leadership development, executive coaching, team development, facilitating and training. Jorge is originally from Guatemala and has coached and consulted for organizations in the United States, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia. Jorge facilitates and coaches English and Spanish speaking clients. He lives in Seattle, Washington.

Richard Stup is a Senior Extension Associate with Penn State’s Dairy Alliance. He is responsible for educational programs in human resource management. Mr. Stup reaches dairy producers directly through educational workshops and by cooperating with the educational efforts of extension personnel and private industry advisors. He also conducts professional development courses for industry and extension, focusing on the advisor’s role in dairy farm human resource management. Mr. Stup is involved in workforce development projects to teach advanced management and technical skills to dairy employees.

Dr. Ron Hanson is currently the Neal E. Harlan Professor of Agribusiness in the Department of Agricultural Economics and the Director of the Agribusiness Program for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  He is a highly sought-after speaker, traveling the country, educating people on what he's learned from nearly thirty years of counseling Nebraska farm families.

Allie Devine is the Vice President and General Counsel for the Kansas Livestock Association.  Through KLA, Ms. Devine conducts research concerning the impact of existing and/or proposed legislation and regulations on producers.  She also assists members in interpreting existing laws and regulations and acts as the association's general counsel.   Ms. Devine actively represents the association in legislative and governmental affairs.
