Based on FSA maps, there are a “large” number of Kansas counties that will receive no Agriculture Risk
Coverage‐County Option (ARC‐CO) payments that are current being paid to farmers in eligible counties. As a
result, we have had several emails asking if we will update our 2015 maps showing ARC payments by county by
crop. The answer is yes, but we will need the raw data that shows FSA’s county yields before we can update
those maps on AgManager.info.
FSA expects to release the FSA county yield data “next” week. Last year the final FSA county yields and
payments were not posted until February 2nd. They are currently making payments and the local FSA office has
to sign off on the payments. The FSA county offices were told to trust the system, but there is currently no way
for the local office to check to see if the payment is correct.
FSA has posted maps that show a range of payments by county for corn, soybeans, and wheat. One can see on
the FSA maps the counties that received no payment, but after that it is just a range of payments. Maps are at:
http://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs‐and‐services/arcplc_program/index
Kansas has a large number of counties that will receive no ARC corn and soybean payments. Most of the state
received ARC payments for wheat, with the exception of the Southwest corner. FSA maps include payments for
“all” and non‐irrigated base acres. FSA did not include maps showing irrigated ARC payments nor did FSA
produce a map showing sorghum payments. One needs to make sure one is looking at the 2015 map, as FSA
also posted the 2014 payments and an average of the 2014 and 2015 payments.
